Residency Requirements
Applicants must meet minimal eligibility criteria for participation in the Program:
- Be a United States Citizen or permanent resident
- Be proficient in the English language
- Successfully completed a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy program (Foreign-trained applicant should submit the accredited international credentialing equivalency)
- Licensed to practice physical therapy in Tennessee and Mississippi
- Be an active member of the APTA
- Be able to meet the physical demands of a Physical Therapist
- Satisfy the pre-employment background check and drug test per Campbell Clinic Policy
- Current CPR certification (must maintain)- Campbell Clinic provides American Red Cross CPR Certification with employment
- Comply with all Campbell Clinic Orthopaedic employment requirements
- Sports Resident
- Must have one of the following prior to admission and maintain during the sports residency:

- Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/LAT)
- Emergency Medical Responder for the Athlete (ERA)
- Emergency Medical Technician/Responder (EMT or EMR)

*Campbell Clinic offers an in-house APTA and Sports Specialty Council approved EMR course yearly with Rhodes College. Contact the Residency Director for more information on this course.

Application Process

Application Includes:
- Application Essay
- In less than 1,000 words, please describe why you have chosen to apply for the Campbell Clinic Residency in Sports or Orthopaedics. Indicate any strengths and/or weaknesses that might influence the pursuit of this program. Elaborate on at least two clinical experiences (a particularly challenging or interesting case, a job, or a clinical internship) that may contribute to the ability to succeed in our program.
- Recommendations: Please provide 2-3 written letters of recommendation. One reference must be from a PT who taught the applicant in an academic setting and one reference must be from a PT where the applicant was employed or was a student.
- Curriculum Vitae
- Official Transcripts (Foreign-trained applicant should submit the accredited international credentialing equivalency report of their official transcripts.)
- Campbell Clinic Physical Therapy residency program will conduct a panel interview with applicants, who meet the programs criteria. The panel interview will be conducted by the Residency Program Director, the Residency Program Coordinator, the Physical Therapy Director, and/or one faculty member.
