So glad that I was finally referred to Dr Bernholt. After seeing another surgeon in Jackson, TN and being told there was nothing wrong with my knee after falling directly on it except arthritis, I had had enough. Dr Bernholt knew what was going on with my knee on the first visit and after some conservative treatments knew that surgery was needed to fix it. I am 11 days post surgery and doing much better. No big ego despite world class credentials, gave clear indications as he put my shoulder through the hoops, recommended a conservative remedy instead of surgery— couldn’t ask for a better examination. Also, the staff were friendly, called me back a minute after my initial sign-in, then immediately to xray , and Dr B appeared in the examination room a couple minutes after. Although I have possibly torn the same area, he is trying to keep the inflammation down & me active as much as possible although I have had to have the fluid on my knee removed and cortisone given twice since the surgery. I had a complete meniscus tear and he was able to get it repaired and I am in the healing process now. 4 more weeks of non weight bearing and then I’ll be good as new. Dr. Bernholt is a caring professional that takes the time to explain the process and make sure you understand the procedure and recovery requirements before surgery. I will definitely recommend him and see him for all of my future ortho needs!
